What Does Community Owe Its Young People?

A Public Square conversation about opportunity, responsibility and creating pathways for the next generation.

Coffee, newspaper and notebook representing a community conversation about young people.

Communities are shaped by the opportunities we create for the generations that follow us. But when young people face barriers to education, employment, mentorship and belonging, where does the responsibility for creating new pathways begin?

This conversation asks us to consider what a community owes its young people; and what role families, schools, organizations, businesses and community leaders can each play in helping the next generation thrive.

There may not be one answer. That is exactly why the question belongs in the Public Square.
What does community responsibility look like to you?
